Adult Sunday School

Our Adult Sunday School rotates both teachers and the studies we do together.  We are often studying a book of the Bible or going through a topical study together.  Below you can find what a class will be about, who will be teaching, and how long the class will run.  There is no expectation that you must be at every class nor that you start right a the beginning.  Jump into Sunday school any time throughout the year and get studying!

We meet from 9:15-10:00am Sunday mornings in Room 3-4.

Did you know that after God spoke the world into existence, He made a seventh day

and on it He rested? Did God need a rest? Most likely not, He is God and in need of

nothing. But, we believe God did this to model a sustainable lifestyle for us, His image

bearers. Genesis 2:1-3 states:

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on

the seventh day He rested from all His work. And God blessed the

seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of

creating that He had done.

In a world that is always connected via technology and the internet, how do we

intentionally stop and create a sabbath rest? When you do stop, what constitutes a rest

for you?

  • A serene walk in the early morning?

  • The rising and falling of the ocean tide?

  • Fishing on a quiet lake?

  • Tasty tea with a compassionate companion?

  • The hum of tractor engine on a freshly plowed field?

  • The joyous laughter of children happily at play?

  • Any step outside of the normal rhythm of life?

Our church is active, running on all cylinders, and doing our best to pour out God’s love

to each other and our neighbors here in Milaca. Our teachers are faithful and have

served faithfully for many years. While the work is ongoing and will not be completed

until Christ’s return, we think it is important to balance this work with well-timed and

soul-refreshing sabbath rest. Our church leaders have met and agreed that we will take

a sabbath rest from Sunday School this summer. This rest is intentional, well thought,

and we pray it provides an opportunity for people of all ages to connect with God and

others in a way that is new and different.

This is a glimpse of what you can expect in the upcoming months.

June 2-September 1 ~ Sunday school classes will not meet. Instead, we

encourage you to use this time well by participating in one of the following

  1. Create an extended personal devotion and prayer time at home.

  2. Lead your family in Sunday morning devotions and prayer.

  3. Fellowship and pray with other believers in our church—make an effort to

go outside of your comfort zone to meet others.

September 8 ~ Join us for potluck breakfast at 9:00am to celebrate the startup of

fall Sunday school classes. We will host a short presentation to introduce our

Sunday school teachers, their curriculum, and our new class offering projects.

September 15 ~ Fall Sunday school classes commence!

Sounds fun, right! For some of us this will bring a welcome change, for others, this is

a change that may be uncertain and trying. Above all, we are praying that God will

guide our hearts and minds and that we, as the body of Christ, will take everything to

God in prayer… joys and concerns. May the Lord’s will be done through the power of

His Spirit and may His Spirit be poured out among each member of this church!

Café Alliance

All are welcome in the fellowship hall from 10:00-10:30am for coffee and light refreshments each Sunday morning. Coffee, tea, juice, and water are served in the Fellowship Hall along with tasty baked goods, yogurt, and seasonal fruit. We have some gluten free options as well.

Worship Service

10:30 am in the sanctuary. The services are normally about 65 minutes, and involve singing, prayer, and teaching from the Bible.

  • Seeking to honor God - with sincere gratitude and share with one another the joy of our salvation through song, prayer, and readings - we aim to be a grace-filled community that emphasizes the congregational voice in worship.

  • Messages are Jesus and Scripture centered. Kids preK through 2nd grade are dismissed right before the message starts for Gospel-centered teaching just for them. Children are always welcome to stay throughout the message.

  • Depending on the morning there may also be real-life stories, special choirs, or communion as part of our worship time.
